I think a LOT of that is that the property values in the areas hit by Wilma are so extremely high.... I'm not sure, perhaps Derek or someone else in the know could elaborate further; but I believe there's a list that adjusts for things like population, property value, and inflation... sort of a "levelling of the playing field"... not sure; but I think I saw one once.

I noticed a state-by-state tally on Katrina's death toll... nearly 1300 in Louisiana alone, (no big surprise with all the flooding); but I'd like to know if they have a state-by-state tally on where all those still missing 1890 or so are from. If they're from Mississippi and the New Orleans East/St Bernard/Lower 9th area... indeed they're almost certainly among the dead. I did hear the dhd report said most were elderly and poor in the hardest hit areas.
