Desperate Housewives Season 2 is reportedly coming to DVD July 29th, but I'm a bit skeptical of that date. August 29th sounds more likely.

http://www.usatoday.com/life/2006-04-27 ... ions_x.htm

New spoilers

04/28 - Richard Burgi reveals: [The breakup with Edie] doesn't go over very well. It's met with some, uh, anger, as you could imagine, and a buildup of venom. I think [Edie] gets a little "hot." She puts a little mojo out there. All kinds of things happen as a result of it. The fallout is chaotic and widespread. [Edie will soon learn that Susan is the other woman.] She finds out with some prodding and assiduous investigation. Once she finally comes to terms with it, she takes action and it's, uh, not pretty. Source: TV Guide Online

04/28 - Richard Burgi reveals: I've heard that rumor [about Susan discovering that she is pregnant].... [Evil laugh] It's very possible that since she and Karl "got together," something comes out of that. But I don't think there's anything I can say about that. Source: TV Guide Online

and video clips for Sunday, the Lynette one is classic.

Poor Gabby and Carlos.

Nice going Lynette. You are going to get your husband fired. Though I must admit those IM's were hilarious.

The Applewhite mystery is bizarre and building up to something. I did not see the "poison Caleb" thing coming.

I can't wait til Edie finds out about Susan being the other woman. :P

That preview was such a tease. I guess Tom's big secret is revealed next week.

I haven't watched the last 10 minutes yet. Now reading that Gaby's heart is broken, I think I'll be crying. Her character has grown on me, I used to fast forward thru scenes with her in it.

I can't understand Bree at all. She has a teenage daughter, why would she want to be close friends if not more, with the sex addict?

I'll try to finish this in the morning. I recorded DH on a VCR tape so we could record a movie on our DVR (free movies this weekend).

As first reported in Ask Ausiello, Desperate Housewives has added Kiersten Warren to its cast in a role once eyed by Laura Dern. The show is now confirming that Warren will play a wrench in Tom and Lynette's marriage. (Is Housewives following through on that loose end from Season 1, hinting at a polygamous Tom? Hmmm.) The show also is adding to its ranks Julie White as a woman with a connection to Susan's fauxbeau Orson (played by Kyle MacLachlan). Both characters, described as "pivotal" to Season 3's stories, will be introduced in the May 21 season finale. Just like how the "pivotal" Betty Applewhite first showed up in last year's finale.

Susan is so screwed.

LOL! Tom punched Ed! That was great.

Andrew knows Peter is a sex addict. Oh boy.

Poor Lynette.

WHOA... Matthew is locked up now.

:18:

I knew the Andrew/Peter thing was coming... but still.

:roflmao: at Xiao-Mei, and the mailman. Julie put the letter to Edie that confesses back in the bag.

Wow indeed. What a chock full episode. So many unanswered questions left hanging in the air. Does Tom have another family? At the very least, another wife? And did Lynette come first or second? Her marriage could be a sham and her 4 kids illegimate! This would open up her storyline (dating next year). Getting way ahead there. Edie burning Susan's house down, well, that did not surprise but somewhere deep down I was hoping the writers would take these two mismatched women and form an odd friendship. Guess not! Didn't Edie's house burn down, by something Susan inadvertently did? If so, was the arson payback for that incident and not Carl (who thinks he's quite the stud). I saw the Jinmai (sp?) storyline coming a mile away. I thought Carlos would do the right thing and tell Gaby they need another surrogate. You watch, Gaby will suggest a C-section telling Jinmai she's not ruined.

The most powerful storyline of all just broke my heart - Bree and Andrew. That came out of nowhere. I really thought they'd have a serious, heart to heart talk and start all over again. Sincerely forgiving eachother - finally.

Andrew's not gone though. You know he'll be back.

The storyline that just bores me no end - the Applewhite's. I wish they'd just pack and move. That story just doesn't seem to fit in. Feels forced. Hoping that makes sense.

Yeah... in the pilot, Susan thought Edie and Mike had gotten together and she went over there, heard Edie having sex with a guy, assumed it was Mike, and then got into her usual stupid self while mourning the loss and the house caught on fire. Strictly an accident though...

Oh yeah, and why didn't she just throw away the letter that confessed to Edie or hide it? Don't put it back in the stack!

From next week's TV Guide(May 15-21):

The Finale: "We wrap up a lot of the stories, but we've got a great cliffhanger", says Cherry. The two-hour episode begins with Bree in the mental institution. Gabby starts to suspect something is going on between her housekeeper and Carlos. Lynette discovers the truth about Tom's supposed affair. And the big ending involves our star-crossed lovers, Susan and Mike. "They start up their relationship again", says Cherry, "with tragic results. Kyle MacLachlan will screw up their relationship." Next Season: There will be a big new mystery on Wisteria Lane. Expect MacLachlan to return with a fresh storyline. Bree will move into a more positive phase of her life with a new romance, Lynette will be dealing with the ramifications of Tom's assignation, and Gabby and Carlos will have martial difficulties---which could be as tragic as they are funny. As for Susan? "I haven't figured that one out yet", says Cherry.

And right there, in the very first episode or so, my dislike for the Susan character began. She breaks into someone's home (illegal and invasive in and of itself) , sets the place on fire, and is supposedly depressed because she just destroyed someon's home. But then Mike walks up, she realizes he was not the one Edie was in bed with, and she immediately gets giddy and silly with happiness -- while the house burned in front of her. That's when I realized that she was not depressed about ruining someone's home, but because she thought Mike (who she had never been on date with, at that point) was with Edie. Shallow much?

So while Edie was all kinds of wrong to burn down Susan's house, the karma was suitably DHish funny.

sfgal - Susan was too dingy for me too. Julie is more mature than she is at times! The pratfalls - far too many.

Early on, Lynette became my favorite housewife. She was a stay at home mom then, reluctantly and frazzled. Missing something more in her life. I couldn't relate to that feeling but something maternal in her grabbed my attention.

I thought at first I'd like Susan but as you pointed out, right there in the beginning something didn't add up. The episode that turned me off of Susan was the towel getting caught in the car door. And then of course hiding in the bushes. Not only that but it came out at a dinner party!

They kept plugging DH during Lost tonight.

Everytime I see Susan standing there watching her house burn down, I want to scream - if you weren't such a dingbat, maybe these crazy things wouldn't happen to you!

I think Lynette's in for a major shock. I will not be looking forward to that story. If she and Tom split up, Gaby will be the only housewife with a husband. Or wait Susan's still married to the creep but that won't be for long. But they don't live together. Carlos is IT!

I'm confused as to what goes down with Tom/Lynette. The promo for Sunday has Tom saying "Did you think I was having an affair?" and then Lynette says "No, well, maybe a little", and then there are shots of Lynette upset when she discovers something(Tom's at a house to meet a woman?), and we also hear Tom saying he might have to ruin a really great surprise(?), so for the first time in awhile I can't figure out what the plot is. I do think if it's an affair, it's not just as an affair.

Also, take a look at this picture from the season finale. The "other woman" is handing Tom/Lynette a settlement agreement? :?:

AWESOME episode tonight! I cannot wait til next week.

Totally didn't see Danielle and Matthew running off together or Danielle attacking Betty coming. I'm REALLY intrigued by Tom and Lynette's storyline. I wish Felicia would just go away(maybe I got my wish from the ending)... she's going overboard now. Poor Bree. :( Edie is evil.

Oh and Gabby said "Carlos is dead" in the preview!

A tease of what's to come next season is offered in Sunday's two-hour finale (9 p.m. ET/PT), which will be the swan song for at least six characters and feature the returns (via flashback) of three favorite faces from the past.

http://www.usatoday.com/life/television ... main_x.htm

Lots of info about the finale in there... also a few things about Season 3.

I didn't realize there were 19 regulars this season! Geez...

No clips from the episode have been posted by any of the usual suspects.
