Where will be this years trouble spot

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Wed May 10, 2006 11:24 pm

Will it be the battered GOM coast..? The still recovering Central Fla coast and inland areas?.. South Fla..? Fla West Coast..? Carolinas?

I kinda found it interesting that in 2004.. I got 3 direct hits yet in the record breaking 2005 I got a bunch of near misses lol..

I think the GOM will be prime target this year again.

Yeah me too. Looking at Dr. Grey's numbers, I believe that the higher probability of an east coast strike is more a function of it being more area vs the gulf coast. Probabilities seems awefully high this year for the GOM.

The GOM is the biggest trouble spot in my book, following is the Caribbean, and then the East Coast of the U.S.

The East Coast is way overdue, but I think the GOM first then the east coast towards the Carolinas, maybe even NJ

1. Bahama's
2. North Carolina (Outer Banks)
3. South Florida (Ft. Pierce - Key West)
4. South Texas/ North Mexico
5. Barbuda - Virgin Islands area

Severe drought/ fires around my area reminds me of weather patterns during the mid late 90's, that's what I'm basing my predictions on!!

If we have learned anything in the past few years, Florida will always be a prime target. Also in the past few years, most of the Bahama's storms ended up hitting us here in SFL.

I say more East Coast personally. I think a persistent Eastern Trough and a Blocking North Atlantic High will drag most storms North between the two (lots of near misses and at least a few landfalls). As such movement will be more Northward, than Westward, this year.

I'm hoping for a FISHY season, but I know that's not probable either!!! I live in the least hit area of Florida, and I hope it stays that way!! NE Coast-St. Augustine.

I don't like your #1 pick at all. That puts last year's hard hit areas of AL/MS/SE LA in the bullseye
