I watched it last night... Definately a great episode! But a little different from the "regu;ar" Er show... Nice for a change that went off well... It was nice to hear past doctors names... Brings back so many memories!! I also had to DVR it and come back to it later... Trying to get the kids in bed and all was a bit too much for paying attention to the show... But I did watch it, and I was impressed... I will definately have the kids in bed next week by 9 so I can watch it... Cant wait to see the "special guest"!!!!!

I missed half the previews. I have this problem with other recordings too - they go over past the start of the next hour....grrrrr! Now I need to edit the weekly ER timer too.
I saw that a female gets shot but that's about it. Was that Abby? And no mention of special guest star. Go ahead, you guys can tell me!
Thanks.
Mary

Mary -- have you watched in a while? The May eps could be good!
We saw both Carter and Pratt in Darfur in the last episode. They'll catch us up on more of what's going on with them during May sweeps. Gallant is in Iraq, and we'll see him again (yay!).
And I'm not giving away anything else...oh, except I read a spoiler about Morris getting a farewell party.

I have this episode on the DVR but haven't had time to watch it yet.
Regarding Sudan: I find it wonderfully ironic that George Clooney is helping bring awareness to the atrocities going on over there, in real life. But it's being covered in ER, the show that finally launched his career. God Bless him!
I'll post after I watch it.

Mary, if you're recording and haven't watched yet, get the Kleenex ready.
Oh wow, that was so sad! I loved the video.
What in the world is wrong with Vic? Is it really post traumatic stress or is the guy just nuts?
The finale looks upsetting to say the least, when I saw Abby go down I said outloud - nooooooo! I'm hoping she just falls or is knocked unconscious. Not shot. I've learned NOT to trust promos anymore.....

Yup, W&G definitely brought back the quality and class of series finales from the past. They touched on old jokes from the pilot as well as the recurring, traditional stuff and tied everything together neatly in the end. I loved it. But I was afraid it was going to be the highlight of the night, based on how ER has been doing lately. But ER surprised me and blew me away! Both were great!

I must admit I peeked in this thread before watching the ER finale. I read George's name and did a whoa?!!! LOL
The ER finale left me on the edge of my seat, mouth agape and hands in hair, ready to pull some out. I suspected the EMT trainee was not who she said she was. If I hadn't seen promo's and read that Sam's ex turns up, I wouldn't have connected the two. I would have just thought that Mary was pulling a prank or something. By the time Sam was in the room with her and the prisoner, I knew it would get violent. Sam sure picked the wrong guy way back when. Your heart aches for her b/c she's such a good nurse, a decent, honest person trying to raise a son alone. And her ex keeps popping up. I was shocked he held the son hostage. I loved how Sam was frantically trying to save Luka. I kept yelling his name, Luka you have to live! And Abby......I hope she will be okay. Please tell me the ER regular character that will die will be Jerry? I just hope it's not Luka or Abby. Can we just say it's Gallant and be done with it? Guess not, since teasers said it would happen in the finale.
And Kerry.....still weasling out of responsiblity and going all Admin on us. Mark Greene never would have been like Kerry. Never!
I do think this show is past his day though. This was the first season finale without Carter. If not for Jerry and Halleigh, no one would be there from day one (remember Kerry came in during the second season).

Are we sure Gallant wasn't the only one who was supposed to die? I don't think I've read about anyone else going...yet. If there has to be someone else, I'd settle for Sam.
Can Morris please just hurry up and go??? Seriously though, he's not gone yet because...well, I have read a *few* spoilers.
Luka and Abby are surely there to stay. Pratt, Carter, Kerry...I don't see them going anywhere soon, although Carter will just be here and there. Of course Neela can't go because she and Ray have a legion of fans who have dubbed the couple "The Roomies." NBC could lose viewers if Abby, Luka, Ray, or Neela departed.
Yup, it's definitely past its prime. Nothing like the episodes of old like "Love's Labor Lost," "Hell and High Water," "Ambush," and the "Be Still My Heart/All In The Family" ones. But this one at least brought back some of that adrenaline rush that earlier eps had.

TV Guide's reviewer is pushing for John Stamos to return. I think he is, but I'd rather Neela realize Ray's the better man for her. Although Stamos is still a heart throb! If I can use those words....LOL
I wish I could understand the seriousness of Luka's situation. The shot paralyzed him? And without intebation (sp?) he wouldn't have been able to breathe on his own? I am surprised Sam didn't ditch the wheelchair and run back to Luka. I half expected her to. I'm glad she called Abby Abigail!
This episode did remind me of the old heart in your throat ER episodes. But it will never come up to Love's Labor Lost or Hell and High Water. Or even top that Season 1 finale - Carol's ill fated wedding to Tag. That is probably my favorite feel good episode of ER, even though her heart was broken. I loved how the entire cast rallied around her and the looks Doug was giving her......ah, the ER memories.

He's coming back next season apparently. Now that his horrible ABC show is cancelled, it allows him to come back(I think that's the reason they waited til now to cancel it).
