South Florida Fire

#1 Postby SouthFloridawx » Fri May 12, 2006 6:00 pm

I was trying to check out what the reason for cloudy conditions here as the forecast calls for clear skies. I pulled up the radar and it appears there must be a wildfire in western palm beach county.

Tonight: Clear, with a low near 67. North wind between 5 and 13 mph.

Nothing posted here at the NOAA website but, I'll see what i can find.

I just got back from the store and just before I left I went out side and I saw ash flying all over the place and my windshield was just about covered. Being that I have a skywarn ID i called it into the NWS and they acknowledged what I thought was happening. They said there was/is a brush fire on the southwestern county line in palm beach.

I was wondering why I was smelling smoke yesterday evening. This is a great link to the fires in Florida. Hillsborough has several fires burning which I wasn't aware of.
