Latest reports from Laredo are 30mph sustained winds, and 48mph wind gusts. This is one hell of a windy storm for them. They recorded a 61mph gust an hour ago, and are still getting gusts to 45+mph.

That infrared shot almost looks as if a weak TS just made landfall in south central TX.

Ain't that the truth! At least it's going to be cool here for a few days.
Not like after Hurricane Rita no power for 2 days and a temp. of 105, and no wind at all! ***HOT***

here in Corpus Cristi, TX, mega Dps now dying down a little. Fantastic storms tonight however and anvil crawlers.

Talked to a friend who was in Nuevo Laredo tonight (approx 9:45 pm) said that the city was flooding and that the electric was all out. They were trying to get across the bridge to Laredo but were being told by the toll booth operators that no one could go into Laredo 'because of the tornado'. Now, I'm pretty sure that there wasn't a tornado at that time, but they were attempting to keep everyone from crossing the bridge.

Nuevo Laredo does have flooding problems.

Got about 1 1/2 inches from last night's rain event. That is 3 inches total in 5 days. I'm a happy camper now. Well at least for a week or so, :ggreen:
