So, how did all the moms spend their day?

John and I have no children so we spent the day with our loving 12 cats. Only 4 get to stay in the house. They could have cared less, they slept all day so far. The outside cats must have run all night.

Went to my SIL's home for a feast of brisket, burgers and hotdogs. Another BIL brought some crawfish and we boiled it. Yum! My daughter surprised me with some delicious lettuce wraps from PF Changs in Baton Rouge. I'm so lucky to have married into such a wonderful family. I ate way to much and now it's naptime.

Went to the in laws to eat lunch, it was easy fixins because after all it is mothers day and we didn't want to cook cook. It was store bought fried chicken, and different types of cold salads. And store bought desserts, which they never do but it was good to just spent time with them.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL THE MOMS HERE AT S2K!!!!!!!!!! :bday: :bday: :bday:

Took my Mother to Olive Garden. Treated myself to a manicure AND a pedicure. It was grand to be pampered.

Happy Mother's Day to all my storm2k Mom friends. :D

Well here's the $50 question:

Is a husband obligated to get something for his wife? After all, your wife isn't your mother. Your mother is. And if your kids are any way decent, they'll take care of their mother. Right?

Well, John only gets me something small, like a small plant for the yard or something, from our cats. Just to remember the day.

I think if the kids are grown and out of the house, they should be responsible to buy their mother a gift.

Kids at home, the dad should take them out and help them pick out something for their mother.

If you are by yourself and have a pet, that would be cute, something from him. After all, she is his mama, haha.

Otherwise, I don't think anything big is necessary. It is Mother's Day and that should be Dad''s day off except for His mother.

In my house, NO. My kids aren't either. I feel that Mothers Day and Fathers Day is too commercialized. I'd rather them do something for me during the year that is unexpected (clean the room, clean the kitchen, give me a hug) than go out and spend money on me.

this was the first Mom's Day where none of the kids were around and my mom is gone. it was kind of bittersweet. my husband always gets me flowers and a card and I always tell him that it isnt necessary because i'm not his mother.... :D
