Every pro-met on the board has said this. Do you guys not trust us anymore...or do you all want something so bad that you all just aren't listening? :lol:

Truth be told...this GOM system is better suited on the Winter Weather Forum than Talking Tropics....this ain't tropics :wink:

Yeah Dixie I agree, now the thing in gulf will get out of here today or tomorrow but the trough currently over the Yucatan get into the NW Caribbean and could be something to watch over the weekend.

I know that this system in the Gulf is non-tropical in nature, its a potent short wave moving easterly.Once it does clear the Gulf and east of Florida we have to watch the tail in the Caribbean starting tomorrow. This can turn tropical down in the Caribbean if shear relaxes a bit.

No...seriously...do you really think it looks tropical? If so...would you like more (on top of the tremendous amounts of reasons already given) explaination as to why it's not? It doesn't even look remotely tropical.

I think that 2005 spoiled a lot of people in that every little swirl or blob is now expected to form into at least a depression.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine the membership on this board grew by leaps and bounds last year, and all of the new members (including myself) just happened to join during one of the most (if not the most) exciting seasons ever.

Just wait, around late July to mid-August, when nothing has formed in two or three weeks...the "Season is Dead" posts will begin to appear. Then again, after the last couple fo years, a nice long lull about mid-season wouldn't be all that bad, would it? 8-)
