742 PM CDT FRI MAY 12 2006

...RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM SNOWFALL SET AT MADISON...

A RECORD SNOWFALL OF A TRACE WAS SET AT MADISON TODAY.
THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF ZERO SET IN 2003.

If the record's zero, when was it initially set? Couldn't have been 2003. And what happened in 2004 and 2005? :lol:

And this should definitely be posted somewhere where people might read it. It's good for a laugh.

Hmmmm ....

actually a record was probably set then because hail also falls into the snowfall cateogry. (Freezing Rain, Sleet, Hail, Snow all go under the snowfall category in climatological reports).

It's always made me mad that hail goes in the snowfall category. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a trace of snow on one violent June day! Only to find that the low that day was 48...and that the airport received hail...
