Grand Casino hotel tower implosion set

The twelve story beachfront Biloxi Grand Casino hotel is set to be imploded Sunday May 21st at 6:15am. Biloxi Mayor A J Hollaway will push the buttons to initiate the explosive charges that will topple the structure. The hotel was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina........MGC

Sort of sad news and good news. Good news that Biloxi will be moving on and rebuilding which shows progress. Sad news because I have memories in the Grand Casino with my husband. It was one of the first places he took me after going to Mardi Gras for the first time in New Orleans.

A perfect example of the power of the storm. A commercial steel and concrete structure on the beach that is a total loss. :eek:
