yes but the idea is to get the stuff anyway since you aren't going to save a ton of money on the tax break but who cares it motivates people to get ready as they should..nice work by the florida govt.

I saw that Home Depot & Lowes also were matching the tax break with an additional 7.5% off! :D That should defeinatly get the people motivated to buy there supplies now!. I am going today also.

I just hope they take control of the price gouging before the season starts. They need to really apply strick fines and close those places down.

those prepare are highly unlikely to gouged, that being said florida is very agressive with enforcement with attorneys driving around in cars answering the call, charlie crist has doen a great job with that.

just make sure it runs, lots of people leave those things with gas in them and dont run them for awhile and guess what?

everyone needs to make sure they get the proper extension cords if youa ren;t going with a transfer switch..dont go cheap, get the heavy duty 12 guage cords at depot or lowes...they are pricey at 50 dollars for 100 ft but worthit and while youa re there get a carbon monoxide detector, thanks.

Yes, we have two generators. We have them hooked to the house so we can use a lot of stuff. John cleans them up good and starts them at the start of cane season so we know they will run good if we need them.

Went out and took advantage of teh tax break myself by purchasing a 5500 watt generator... Of course, Murphy's Law states that since I am now prepared for a power outage, all storms will not affect my area. (not that I am complaining if that particular law holds true...)
