Active Tropical cyclone year in Southern Hemisphere in 2006.

This has been an incredible season in the Southern Hemisphere Here are most of the names....if i forgot one feel free to post it!


very severe tropical cyclone Mala Cat 4

Tropical cyclone bertie-alvin Cat 4

severe tropical cyclone Clare Cat 3

severe tropical cyclone Daryl Cat 2 But for a short time became a severe tropical cyclone.

severe tropical cyclone Floyd Cat 4

severe tropical cyclone Glenda Cat 5 (1st one)

severe tropical cyclone Jim i could not find the category!

severe tropical cyclone Larry Cat 5 (2nd one)

severe tropical cyclone Monica Cat 5 (3rd one)

severe tropical cyclone Wati Cat 3


PS!Again these were all the ones i could find if i left out any names post them! :wink:

that would be on the local system. just to avoid confusion its not all cat 4-5 equivilant on the US scale

Intense Tropical Cyclone Boloetse, Cat 3 (SSHS)

Tropical Cyclone Vaianu, Cat 1 (SSHS)

Jim was likely cat 1 or 2. (SSHS)

either way, monica was a CAT 5 on both scales

I presume that you are talking about intensities here because in total numbers the Southern Hemisphere is running BELOW normal since July 1st 2005 which is when the numbers start for the current season.

I think STC Monica was intense category 5 or invented category 6! :eek:

Anyway TC Larry was recorded 320km/hr winds! :bathroom:
