Nail Polish

#1 Postby Janice » Sat May 20, 2006 9:36 am

Are you wearing blues and greens, etc. in nail polish?

I am too conservative, won't do it.

Nope, wouldn't really go over well at the law office where I work <g>; my employer has very definite ideas about how employees should look. If I do polish them I usually wear a light pink - I think the one I have right now is for french manicures.

My fingernails are so weak anyway that they break off as soon as they start growing a little bit over the edge of my finger. To me, short, short nails look silly when they are polished bold colors. (talk about conservative!)

Yes, I agree with you. I see a lot of stars, etc. with really short manicured nails. They just seem to wear either a clear or really light color. Looks nice.

I used to always were artificial nails from the salon. But since working on the house, I have not for a couple year. I want to get back to them tho. I keep them fairly short, but my nails are like yours, weak.

I have always wanted to try the salon nails - having had weak nails all of my life I just imagine them snapping like twigs the minute I get home though

Maybe for my kids' weddings (they are 13 and 6 now, so I have some time to think about it <g>.)

Yes, I love them. You have to make sure you find a really good salon. You will have to get them filled in every two weeks, but it is a nice luxury for yourself and your hands really look nice. I am lucky, I have a good girl. Mine have never fallen off or chipped.
They just look tacky when ready for a refill, lol.

I don't wear nail polish very often. However, last year at work we didn't have to wear hosiery with slacks or long skirts or dresses. That meant I could SAFELY wear sandals during the summer and I started painting my toe nails. I usually use rose or mauve colors. They're better suited for my skin color.

Nope. My students would freak out if I came to school with blue or green nail polish. I can hear them now.

No off colors, I really like pinks, all shades of pinks. My daughters always ask why pink all the time, they would love for me to have apple red, or some purple glittery stuff. No way. Pinks look great with tan feet too. :D

I wear pink, red, mauve, etc. but I will wear blue sometimes during football season. Cowboys blue with little silver stars. It's fun. :)

I wear a bare pink of my fingernails. Deep red on my toes in the winter and fuschia in the summer, but occasionally, I'll break out a lighter or iridescent blue or a green on my toes for funsies :)

I like the lighter shades when I wear it. I guess to not draw too much attention to my hands. They are not bad hands, I am just a little conservative. But, if I go out, I always wear some. I feel underdressed without it, like going without makeup.

Fingernails: clear or the "pink" from a French manicure kit
Toenails: mild shades of peach, pink, or mauve

My hands/fingers/fingernails as well as toes/toenails are (proportionately) on the small side. Although my nails are strong, I keep them short and squarish. Deep colors look ridiculous on them. :D

I love to paint my toenails blue. Sometimes I paint each one a different color.
