NOAA'S EPAC 2006 May Outlook=Below Average Season

A below average season according to NOAA'S May outlook is on tap for the Eastern Pacific 2006 season.

Even though it's expected to be below average, I wonder if Mexico might see a landfalling EPAC hurricane. The last was Marty in 2003.

In 1996, one of the least active EPAC seasons ever, although only 8 named storms formed, 4 of them made landfall as hurricanes on Mexico.

I'm going on the low end of those estimates. I think it will be a relatively slow year in the EPac. 12/5/1 is my guess.

Considering how active the Atlantic was last year, I'm surprised the EPAC had as many storms as they did.

When Jova and Kenneth were both hurricanes at the same time, it was nice to see a "parade of storms" in the EPAC again.
