GOES-N launch (Wednesday May 24)
Will be broadcast live on NASA TV:
May 24, Wednesday
6 p.m. – Goes-N Launch Coverage (Launch Window 6:11-7:11 p.m.) – KSC/BOEING (Public and Media Channels)
-----
This weather satellite will be a major upgrade over the current GOES birds. Unfortunately, I don't think they plan to put it online this year. GOES-12 still has a lot of life left.

It was supposed to be operational this year. The launch last year got postponed. The GOES-N will supply info during the eclipse periods....and I was looking forward to that this hurricane season.

...but it didn't happen. Maybe it will this time around.

Hey, I work on the rocket test stand at Stennis Space Center that tests and certifies for flight the RS-68 Engine that is the primary propulsion unit for this rocket... it was sweet.... this engine was just picked for the NASA heavy lift vehicle that will return man to the moon... more sweetness
