Things We Probably Won't See

#1 Postby Janice » Wed May 24, 2006 3:19 pm

Name something you are for sure we will see in the future, but not in YOUR lifetime.

Me.....I hope and think we will see Puerto Rico become a state, but not in my lifetime. They just keep shoving it back.

I would also like to see a cure for cancer, aids, the common cold and polio. They still don't have a cure for polio. But, I won't see these cures in my lifetime.

Is there a treatment for polio?
There is no "cure" for polio. Persons infected with polio need supportive therapy, such as bed rest and fluids. Standard precautions should be taken to avoid passing on the virus through any contamination from the patient's stool.

They still don't have a cure for polio.

It's caused by a virus.. like influenza and AIDS...and the common cold. Because of their living/non-living status, and incredible capacity to mutate, it is unlikely they'll find a cure for them anytime in the near future--closest we come to this is a vaccine, which is NOT a cure.

I would love to see a creature or being from another planet. I believe they exist, just too far away... Not in this lifetime.

Unless you're over 60, I'd guess you'll be around.
