If this train of waves continues we could see an early CV system forming out in the Atlantic, something amiss last year.

What we are seeing as far as the amount of convection over the continent looks relatively normal to me for this time of year. In fact I think it looks more normal than last year did at this time except for the fact the ITCZ is still lower than normal for this time of year. With the MDR primed and ready once the ITCZ moves to a "normal" position I would expect the CV season to happen this year, unlike last year.

And I and all who live in the Eastern Caribbean islands know what that means.Certainly more CV activity implicates threats to the islands but hopefully the pattern is such that makes turn those systems away and go fishing.
