If only it would do a better illustration of the destruction Category One winds can do... I think after Wilma, a better illustration showing more destruction from Category One/Category Two winds tearing off parts of roofs/trees/shingles would be better. Other than that, it's an EXCELLENT animation! Thanks for posting it!

Sadly I notice that too. If you went by the graphic you shouldn't have that much to worry about until/unless the storm is at least a strong cat 3. Which we all know better than to believe. However those who do not follow hurricanes may take it as meaning they shouldn't worry until storm is at least a higher end cat 3, or even bother to prepare, which would be disastrous

Very good points, and I agree. That's the problems I notice in the animation. It is a very nice animation; however, if it didn't fall into those fallacies, it would be much, much better!

I noticed that too....it looked like a lot of the Cat. 2 damage should have been Cat. 1. Also...why was that trailer behind the house safe until Cat. 3 force winds?

I think this animation severly under depicts the damage that can be done by a hurricane. Damage here by Katrina would be classified as Cat-4 if you follow the animation inland and Cat-5 at the beach......MGC
