Yeah, we do. It's on November 11 ( Remembrance Day), but it's not an official statutory holiday...only a government and bank holiday. So most people have to work on this day of Remembrance.

This is for the Commonwealth Of Nations (Mainly former British Colonies) and a few European nations as well as Canada.
Memorial Day Plans

We're going to have a classic Memorial Day.
Parade at 11:00 complete with marching bands, fire trucks, local H.S. football team, cheerleaders, etc. on flatbed trucks, boy scout and girl scout troops marching. floats with riders throwing candy, and all of the corvette and mustang convertibles that they could round up. Two of my sons will be marching with the bands.
The best part is the veterans of the local VFW marching in their uniforms. As a kid, I remember seeing veterans of WW2 marching, while the older WW1 vets riding in convertibles. Now its the WW2 vets in the convertibles and vietnam and gulf war vets marching. These guys are my age. It's sad, especially thinking that some of them didn't make it home, but at the same time its bittersweet because I'm so damn proud of them.
The parade proceeds to the town cemetary for a ceremony: A speech by the mayor and possibly a state representative, a prayer (YES A PRAYER) by a local minister and buglers playing taps. I always get choked up.
Then a chicken barbeque ran by one of the local mens service clubs. Finally, it's the first day that the town pool is open!
I'm telling ya, this is the stuff that made America great! Classic Americana!!!!!!

I don't know why but the south (my area mainly) doesn't seem to observe Memorial Day like they do in the north. To most it's just a day off from work. No parades. Usually a local cemetary has a ceremony but that's about it.
