Texas Gathering at the HOU/GLS Hurricane Workshop

#1 Postby Air Force Met » Mon May 29, 2006 6:45 pm

OK...I know this is in the announcements section as well, but I wanted everyone to get a chance to see it.

Tomorrow is the day. When and where are we going to meet?

We could meet next to Starbucks (Located on level 2 next to Explore Houston) before the general session begins at 5:20. We can also pick another time to meet or send a runner to gather stragglers.

We need a common place to meet, rather than just looking for someone dressed in S2K gear...because some don't look real good (like me).

I am also game for eating afterwards.

Ideas?

I will be arriving a little late since I'm coming from work. I can look for a 2nd gathering place if there is one. If not, no biggie, I'm sure I'll be able to find the group (hopefully).

My attendance has now become quite iffy due to possible family obligations I was not aware of. I do like the idea of meeting next to Starbucks (Located on level 2 next to Explore Houston) before the general session begins at 5:20. We can also pick another time to meet or send a runner to gather stragglers. (Thanks AFM!!) I am going to do my best to make it.

Storm Vision will be there as well. We will keep a eye open for the S2K crew. We will have royal blue Polo's on with black caps. We will be there to hand out tracking charts and promote awareness. We will also be handing out DVD's for the Hurricane documentary we will be releasing this December. If you see us come and visit, we will have our cameras....maybe we can get some interviews from S2K!

I'm leaving the office @ 4 sharp. I should make it to Starbuck's on Level 2 before the general session begins. Looking forward to meeting our fellow S2Kers.

I'm not in a cap or anything. Just a green shirt with light khaki pants.

I'll be in a blue shirt/tie, brown slacks.

And I'm bald. 19 years of meteorology has mad me that way. :D

I am leaving work at 4:30 from Clear Lake and need to stop by Krogers to get some cash for parking so I dont think I will make it to Starbucks. How long will be at Starbucks?

Still not sure if I am going to make it. Work is currently conflicting, but I may be able to go anyway. Haven't felt well all day either, but I can get past that. Hopefully see you guys if I make it.

Well gang, I made it and got to meet AFM and KatDaddy. Very cool guys!

I think we definitely need to plan a Texas event since the 'gathering' part kinda fizzled.

As you know by now I didn't make it. Too much work and still feeling crappy. Sorry I pooped out at the last minute.

Hope you feel better. No worries. I'm sure there were some other people there but the setup wasn't the best for a gathering of any kind. The conference was the only exhibit so even the Starbucks was closed.

I hear the NOLA meeting was a blast - something like that sounds fun to me.
