last year was also the year of the Florida hurricane as well. Lets not be too over shadowed by Katrina and realise that 4 hurricanes hit Florida last year as well, along with 2 tropical storms

4 hurricanes hit FL? I know of only 2, Wilma and Katrina... Rita came south of FL and barely affected the keys.

TS Arlene and Hurricane Dennis both hit the panhandle.

Am I forgetting another hurricane?

EDIT: I guess Rita could be counted as affecting the Keys ...

Florida has been affected by 8 hurricanes since 2004. In '04 - Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne. In '05 - Dennis, Katrina, Wilma and Rita. Derek is right, Katrina sort of overshadowed all the others but Florida has been hammered in the last two years.

IF Katrina hadn't taken that Southwest track at the last minute, the West Coast

would have taken a pretty severe whack. The forecast was a track right across

Alligator Alley.

Well Florida is the most Hurricane prone state in the US, and one of the most hurricane prone areas in mainland North America. Sad, but true :(

Ask anybody who owned property between Perdido Key and Navarre Beach, it definitely hit the panhandle too.

Louisiana had 2 TS in 2004 and 3 Hurricanes in 2005:

2004: Son of Ivan, Matthew
2005: Need I say...Ok, Cindy, that K storm, what was her name?, Rita.

2006: Hopefully left blank.
