Capri Pants ?

#1 Postby Janice » Thu Jun 01, 2006 1:21 pm

During your downtime, do you live in Capris, jeans or shorts?

I live in shorts all year at home and capri outfits when I go out. Everything here is casual unless a special event.

I am lucky, I can save a lot on clothing.

Oh definitely capri's - they were made for older women!!!! I will wear shorts under protest but I prefer carpi's. It has to be 95-98 before I'll go to shorts.....I've inherited my mother's lovely varicose vein tendency...... ugh. Thank goodness they came back in style!

But now I don't know what to call capri's. My kids say capri's are the shorter pants that come below your knee. And then you have cropped pants that are just a few inches longer than my capri's. And now they're coming out with very long shorts. So I am a little confused....he he

During the winter, I wear my jeans. On the other 3 seasons, I like to wear my shorts.

I used to live in blue jean cut off shorts until I was introduced to capris. I love 'em.

I just like capris cause they are easy to pack and wear on cruises, etc. Everyone here wears them. They are in fashion right now, cute. You always look good in them.

I wear both. But, if I am going out to eat at a restarant or somewheres then I usually wear capris because it is a little dressier. Just depends on where I am going.

You know, Cajungal, you get a couple pair of white capri's and you are set for the whole summer.

Actually, I CAN wear them at work during our "business casual" days. Just no jean material or flip-flops. It's great! :D

Capri pants and shorts most of the time. During the winter some of the teachers thought I didn't own a pair of long pants.

Unless I am going out you will find me in MuMu's. At 65 I can wear what I want, when I want and there is no one to say me nay.

Hey, I just turned 60 last year and I will keep up with the fashions of any youngster.. :cheesy:

I love dressing up and wearing cute outfits. Basically, I will usually just put on capris and a cute top.

I look like a dump at home and love it.....

I love the ankle length capri too. They go way back. I remember when stars wore them in the 50s and 60s. They had a name for them, but I forget. Very slimming.

Can you match these up?

1. Capri pants
2. Clamdiggers
3. Cropped pants
4. Pedal pushers
5. Toreadors
A. Pants cut at varying lengths between ankle and knee.
B. Tight-fitting, below the knee pants, patterned after those worn by Spanish bullfighters.
C. Tight-fitting, three-quarter-length pants, with short slit on outside of leg. Named for the Italian resort where the look first became popular in the '50s.
D. Below the knee, straight-cut pants. First popular during World War II for bicycling.
E. Snug calf-length pants. Originated as cut-off blue jeans, worn while wading to shovel for shellfish.
Answers: 1) C; 2) E; 3) A; 4) D; 5) B.
