We Got A New Car And A New Law

#1 Postby Janice » Tue May 30, 2006 8:04 am

I forgot to tell you, we got a new car. One of Johns students who just got her PHd, left this weekend for a year post doc at Havard. She sold us her car, a 2005 silver Toyota. It is in perfect condition and she even put nice seat covers on it for protection. When we move this next year, I will get my license again and maybe I can get my little green Volkswagon convertable too. I let my license expire from the states and never got a PR one.
Our old car was a 1991 and boy did we get our money out of it. It was a great little Geo Storm. We gave it away, needed a lot of repairs and the dashboard was cracking. It was nice not having car payments for 12 years tho.

Wow, a new car after 15 years. We feel rich

:D

Thanks, it does not have all the bells and whistles, but it has air and a great cd player and that is what makes John a happy camper..... :D

Well, they passed a law here in PR. If you get caught on the cell phone while driving, you pay a $100 fine. So, now John has to get headphones for the car. I suppose it is smarter to always have both hands on the wheel...

Congrats on the new car. Now go get that license so you can get out and about!! I really think that is a great law. I travel about 80 miles a day and see how people drive when they are talking on the phone.

Oh, how I wish they would do that here! I was almost mowed down yesterday by a jerk driving a flat bed semi truck talking on the phone. I also saw him run off the road twice! :x

Thanks Fur. When we move to a condo, I am going to get my license again and get some type of little convertable. I really want a Volkswagon convertible. I think I will look so sweet running around PR like my poo don't stink  We have worked so hard all our lives, we are ready to play, play, play. I wonder if they let you take those little cars on cruise ships. They would come in handy on those island trips. :cheesy: Hey, this is what retirement is all about.
