2006 opening statement and 2005 forecast verifications
This will end up getting buried quickly, so I'll have to repost it with some of the first forecasts, but here's a brief disclaimer/information introductory page for this hurricane season. Also, I'm providing the link directly to the 2005 numerical forecast verifications. I will have more individual verification reports out as soon as I can get them done--a few were done back in the winter. Links are below--stay safe everyone!
2006 opening statement:

2005 Forecast Verifications:

P.S. For a moderator, etc. who may read this, since I don't frequent the rest of the site often, where can I drop a donation to Storm2K?

Also, just for anyone who may be unfamiliar with me, in a nutshell I write independent forecasts for storms during the hurricane season. I'm an undergraduate at Univ. of Miami and this is my fifth year forecasting--for which hopefully I can improve my forecast skill on an independent basis. More basic information is in the link above; I'll be glad to answer any questions too.

Never mind - I had my Internet Explorer set to prompt on script run, which deactivated the Internet Explorer block.
Although I use Firefox, I feel that you shouldn't force people to use another browser. This is horrible for your visitors. I recommend you take that IE-destroyer script out, as the majority of the people whom you are advertising to seem to use IE. If you want, you can still have a message that appears at the top of the page if IE is detected.
On another note, Internet Explorer seems to be FULLY compatible with your site; I was able to view it perfectly when I disabled scripts to get around your block.

I used IE and got onto the page last year, it worked fine. Unfortunately I do see the IE blocker script. I wouldn't say it's limited to a small minority, but yeah, I would recommend removing that script.

I was hoping things would go more smoothly in the browser avenue--last year, about 40% of the visitors were non-IE users--so...well anyway.
The linked pages should function now as well as any information pertaining to the 2005 hurricane season and the home page. Some other pages weren't affected when I implemented the script a couple of months ago. If something doesn't work tonight, check back again tomorrow and I should have everything running.
On a side note, I'll be updating some things outside of the tropical weather section of the website, and removing some links. You may come across a broken link occasionally over the next few weeks, but you shouldn't come across a broken link in the tropical weather section.
Although I discourage IE usage, that's a totally and completely different subject--my apologies for inconveniences.
