Let see if it persists over the next 12 to 24 hours. If that occurs, I think we will see the NHC paying much more attention. Last year Arlene developed under harsh conditions. If anyone here remembers, the low was very separated from the main area of convection at the beginning of its lifetime.

Like Luis said, the Waiting Game has begun!!!

Yea, but the gulf will becoming extremely unfavorable in the next few days. I don't see anything happening with it.

By the way, the NHC is talking about a well-defined tropical wave near 59W moving west @ 10 knots. The wave should cross the disturbance in a day or two. Tropical waves are sometimes igniters when making its way across disturbances and they could be the spark that sets the fire.

We're not look at the GOM for development. We're looking the area in the caribbean. Low shear is forecasted for the 3-5 in the caribbean.

Maybe. But it could give the DR, Cuba, and/or Puerto Rico a big headache.

We could use the map to say that if something is going to happen with this disturbance, it will have to be in the Caribbean because the Bahamas will become inhospitable in a few days.

LOL Southerngale. Don't worry...I'm used to checking my email, typing a report, and being on 2 different phones at one time while driving. It's part of my job. My truck is my office. We get special training for this. :D
