AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL
330 PM CDT TUE JUN 6 2006

.SHORT TERM...(TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY). WEAKENING MCS MOVING SE OUT
OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL BRING MOSTLY CLOUDS AND MAYBE A FEW
SPRINKLES TO THE CWFA THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY. FOR WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY BIG CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS MODELS RUNS ARE
NOW EXPECTED WITH SHORT WAVE TROUGH DAMPENING OUT SIGNIFICANTLY AS
IT APPROACHES FROM THE NW. LATEST GFS AND NAM SOLUTIONS DEPICT
BETTER MID LEVEL FORCING MORE TO THE WEST OF THE CWFA ON WED THEN
BECOMING SHEARED AS IT TRACKS EASTWARD ALONG THE AL AND NWFL COAST
EARLY THU THROUGH FRIDAY. A WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY STALLS FROM WEST
TO EAST ACROSS INLAND SECTIONS OF THE CWFA ON FRIDAY POSSIBLY GIVING
WAY TO A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS ON FRIDAY. CURRENTLY
THE BEST CHANCE OF SIGNIFICANT PRECIP NOW LOOKS TO BE OVER THE
WESTERN HALF OF THE CWFA WEDNESDAY AFT AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT THEN
SHIFTING ESE OVER COASTAL AND EASTERN SECTIONS OF THE CWFA ON THU.
DUE TO THE WARMER AIR ALOFT THEN PREVIOUSLY EXPECTED WITH THIS MAIN
UPPER SYSTEM THE THREAT OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT
BECOMES MORE ISOLATED WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY. AS FOR TEMPS
EXPECT ANOTHER COOL MORNING FOR MOST PLACES WEDNESDAY GRADUALLY
CLIMBING TO NEAR SEASONABLE LEVELS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK AS
A BETTER ONSHORE FLOW DEVELOPS. WILL STAY CLOSE TO CURRENT 12Z
MAVMOS FOR TEMPS THROUGH FRIDAY. /32

&&

.LONG TERM...(SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY). WEAK HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS
OVER THE EASTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL GULF THROUGH MONDAY WITH WEAK
SHEAR ZONE MOVING SOUTH AND DAMPING OVER OVER THE ADJACENT WATERS OR
AL AND NWFL. BY EARLY NEXT WEEK A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRES DEVELOPS
OVER THE SW GULF...LIKELY GIVING WAY TO BETTER MOISTURE ADVECTION TO
THE CENTRAL GULF COAST REGION THROUGHOUT NEXT WEEK.
TO THE NORTH A
DEEPENING MID TO UPPER LOW OVER THE GREAT LAKES WILL LIKELY GIVE WAY
TO ANOTHER ROUND OF SHORT WAVE IMPULSES MOVING SE`WARD TOWARDS THE
CENTRAL GULF COAST. WILL CONTINUE TO USE 00Z MEX GUIDANCE FOR TEMPS.
/32

&&

.MARINE...A LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE OFFSHORE WIND EARLY THIS
EVENING WILL BECOME ONSHORE BY LATE TONIGHT. A WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY
WILL MOVE SOUTH TOWARD THE COASTAL WATERS ON THURSDAY AND STALL
ALONG THE GULF COAST BY LATE THURSDAY AND GRADUALLY DISSIPATE LATE
IN THE WEEKEND AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS EASTWARD ACROSS THE GULF
WATERS. THIS WILL MAINTAIN A GENERAL WESTERLY WIND FLOW FROM LATE
THIS WEEK AND ON THROUGH THE WEEKEND...WITH DIURNAL FLUCTUATIONS TO
SW DURING THE AFTERNOONS AND NW DURING THE LATE NIGHT/EARLY MORNING
HOURS. THE WEAKENING FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL RESULT IN A CHANCE OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS DURING THE LATER
PART OF THE WEEK AND OVER THE WEEKEND.
12/SHEPHERD

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL RANGE FROM 35 TO
40 PERCENT OR ABOVE CRITICAL THRESHOLDS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL REMAIN ABOVE CRITICAL THRESHOLDS
THROUGH THE PERIOD. OTHERWISE...NO CONCERNS. /32

&&

.PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...

JB was getting very exited about this low on his videos today, and it seemed like he thought it had a chance.

So this is all link to the Carribean and what the Mobile NWS is saying? No, I am not freaking out. Don't have any reason to except I have people coming from TN this coming Saturday to stay the week and I have promise them great weather along the coast. No mention of storms on the news please! Just hope they don't read the internet like I do. :D

beachbum, all anyone can do with this situation is wait and watch. Should know alot more by the weekend, either something will start to fire down there or it will go poof. Meanwhile watch the other models such as the UKMET and the GFS to see if they side with the NAM and CMC and forecast something similiar.
