Thanks for the heads-up vb. I just watched the re-air.

I won't spoil it for Extremeweatherguy since he's recording it, but I will say that was some incredible footage.

The full version of it is funny. He can hardly remember Katrina's name and he also cusses her out. All my life living here and I'm 47yo., I never would have thought that Lake Pontchartrain could ever get that high.

I've only driven through Slidell, never lived there. As you said though, having seen much of the area, I find it inconceivable, that I saw Lake Ponchatrain like I saw it in that video!!! That is the only way to state it.
Of course I would have never believed in my life that the bridges across Pensacola Bay(especially I-10) could have been damaged like they were if I had not seen the pictures and heard the first hand accounts myself(I grew up in Gulf Breeze across the bay from P'cola) For that matter I find it all but inconcievable that all of the bridges along the MGC were destroyed and that surge was to the N of I-10 also and it did happen.

I felt the same way when I saw what was left of the I-10 Twin Spans that cross between Slidell and New Orleans. You just don't feel it could happen until you see it. The whole event, even today, feel's so surreal.
