A (somewhat) early start to the '06 season, eh?

This should be an interesting weekend! 8-)

(btw, I've been on this board as a lurker and I've posted a few times throughout the past 6 years or so... lilnoles was my old name... so I'm not new to the board, but only new to this login name).

If it does will it be Florida, Texas or Northern Gulf Coast.

Shear will be weakening over the next 48 - 72 hours in that area. Should be interesting to see if it can hold it's act together until that time. Right now I'd give it a 50/50.

Tropical Weather Outlook

Statement as of 11:30 am EDT on June 08, 2006

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico...
A broad surface low pressure system located near Belize is producing
widespread cloudiness and showers across the eastern Yucatan
Peninsula... Belize... western Cuba... and much of the northwestern
Caribbean Sea. Any development of this system should be slow to
occur due to only marginally favorable upper-level winds and
interaction with land. However... as the system moves slowly north
or northwestward... locally heavy rainfall will be possible over
much of the Yucatan Peninsula... Belize... Guatemala... and western
Cuba during the next day or two.
Elsewhere...tropical storm formation is not expected through Friday.

Don't know if I would call it incredible given it is June and the NW carib is the hot spot this time of the year.

I would not expect huge development yet but it gets us warmed up for the season to come......

Let the madness begin.
I expect about 40 pages on this before it ever gets to a Tropical Depression, if it ever does! :D

True, but I guess they don't care

They really should follow the numbering order though as there have now been three Invest 90Ls on a row according to the NRL.

No...it's really broad right now. We won't get a good fix on a center, if there ever is one, until Recon flies in.
