Ongoing Drought

Drought conditions are getting worse here in south Louisiana. As of June 7th, 2006, Baton Rouge had only received 10.97 inches of rain, which is 17.48 inches below normal for the year!

This may sound weird, but I think the tilting of the earth's axis may have a lot to do with this southern discomfort...I mean...drought.

Could also be the La Nina pattern too. Drought in the S/SW is typical during a La Nina.

Its bone dry here in the panhandle of Florida as well....I actually hope that some of the moisture from the system in the carribbean makes its way up here!!
