Unfortunately, my weekend has been cancelled. I'll be working 12-hr shifts tomorrow and Sunday because of this stupid disturbance. It's not as exciting when you lose your days off.
Ain't that the truth.
On the bright side, 12 hour shifts would be less hours than I worked today. Left for work at 6am, got home 7:30.pm. Have to be there by around 6am tomorrow. Better eat something before it's too late. NHC BETTER not call it a TD at 10 or I won't get any sleep tonight.
Good news is that convection near the estimated center appears to be diminishing. Hopefully, they'll wait for morning visible imagery and/or recon.

Floyd, your map puts me on the fun side. East and NE side of any storm. Yeah, we need the rain, but can I get it over one week and not 3 hours?
And for all you people who are saying "just a strong TS", Gabrielle left my neighborhood in a mess and just the wind force popped windows in my house and my neighbors. So prep for a hurricane, not "just a strong TS" or you'll be sorry.
Also, I point to the potential for rapid intensification once it's in the gulf. Don't dismiss that possibility. I took a nap and when I woke up 4 hours later, Charley was a 4.
It doesn't take much to get a storm wound up here, but thankfully our water temps aren't up to the high 80's yet.
