STRONGER WAVES COMING SOON IN ATLANTIC

#1 Postby OURAGAN » Sat Jun 10, 2006 5:49 am

Here is the 205 AM TWD:

ATLANTIC OCEAN...
UPPER TROUGH NOSES INTO THE NW PART OF THE AREA ALONG 70W N OF
27N INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MID/UPPER CLOUDS N OF 27N ALONG
WITH A FEW SHOWERS. LARGE MID-OCEANIC TROUGH IS SITTING FROM
31N41W 14N50W THEN INTO THE WINDWARD ISLANDS NEAR ST LUCIA WITH
A MID/UPPER LOW NEAR 26N45W ALONG THE TROUGH. MODERATE/STRONG
SUBSIDENCE CONTROLS MUCH OF THE REGION WITHIN ABOUT 300 NM OF
THE TROUGH EXCEPT FOR ISOLATED SHOWERS/TSTMS WITHIN 120 NM OF
THE LOW CENTER... WHICH HAS A WEAK SURFACE TROUGH REFLECTION.
IN THE E ATLC.. HIGH PRESSURE HAS BUILT UP IN THE MID/UPPER
LEVELS WITH A CENTER NEAR 20N22W.. MUCH FARTHER N THAN AVERAGE
FOR EARLY JUNE. RIDGE AXIS EXTENDS TO 19N30W 8N40W 8N80W..
FARTHER S THAN AVERAGE IN THE CENTRAL ATLC. THIS UPPER PATTERN
IS FAVORABLE TO SUPPORT A FAIR NUMBER OF TSTMS IN THE ITCZ AND
SOMEWHAT CONVECTIVE WAVES. TYPICAL STRATOCUMULUS DECK COVERS
THE CENTRAL/E ATLC WITH THE SUBTROPICAL RIDGE IN CONTROL..
ALBEIT A TAD WEAKER THAN AVERAGE. COMPUTER MODELS SUGGEST THAT
THE NEXT FEW WAVES WILL BE FAIRLY STRONG WITH A MUCH FARTHER
NORTHWARD EXTENT THAN THE RECENT BATCH W OF 50W. THIS IS
POSSIBLY DUE TO A LARGE-SCALE DIVERGENCE PATTERN ... SOMEWHAT
RELATED TO THE MADDEN-JULIAN OSCILLATION ... SHIFTING EASTWARD
FROM THE EASTERN PACIFIC INTO THE ATLC DURING THE NEXT WEEK OR
SO.

The conveyer belt is cranking up  I wouldn't be surprised if we run the alphabet again this year

I would actually be surprised if we did it two years in a row, but nothing is out of the realm of possibilities I guess.

If we get a bunch of quick-hitting weaklings, I do think we can run out the alphabet. We remember the big ones from 2005, but there was a pantload of weak, short-lived storms too.

Some sites are looking at as much as 3 other "possibilities"... the engine is definitely "cranking up"... personally, I hope the vast majority fizzle.

Fortunately, it doesn't look like there's anything there yet.

There's a bunch of stuff south of 10N, but that's too far south to worry about. That mess is even south of Nigeria.

I have a feeling we won't be just tracking poorly organized systems such as the one now. I have a really bad feeling about this year. It won't be much longer before we are tracking monsters again. Something I try not to think about. It is fun to track these monsters, but only if it does not affect anybody on land.

I have dreams of hurricanes often and I don't even get hit by them. Ontario doesn't get major hurricane landfalls. Another thing, this morning when I'm half asleep in bed I have visions and dreams about not only TD 1, but I had a dream that Storm2k had 103 pages about TD1 in just a few hours. I think this is getting out of control....

Hey remember that was only a dream that doesn't mean S2K will get out of control.

When we get our first hurricane of the season, especially a major one, the board will be flying with threads and comments.

I wasn't talking about Storm2K when I said that, it's me. All I do right now is follow Tropical Cyclones and Hurricanes.
