5AM 6/12 Squalls generating Waterspouts offshore of Sarasota (WX Radio Alarm woke me up...) In Bradenton steady, moderate to heavy rainfall since about 10pm 6/11.
No wind to speak of (8 mph), baro 29.91in, 74 degrees.

Guesstimating from Tampa NWS Radar, looks like we've had well over 3, maybe 4 inches of rain. I'll see what the AM morning news rants, have to say.

Sarasota/Bradenton Airport reports highest sustained winds overnight at 29mph, gusts at 35mph, SE. I'm about 7mi. North as the crow flies; if that happened here I slept through it, that's for sure. Average, though, is 11mph SE.

The sky in my neighborhood right now is purple, as the sun starts to come up.

We've been having a steady rain here on Anna Maria Island for hours, but it's tapering off right now. The wind is pretty calm. The surf is layed down compaired to yesterday, but there are still breaking waves hitting the beaches.

High tide is around noon. It doesn't take much to flood the roads here, even with the dry soil. I haven't spotted any waterspouts yet.

Life is good....

We've had like maybe 12 drops of rain in the last 24 hours. It either needs to dump some rain here or I'm going to have to add water to my pool - I'm at the point where the skimmer is barely under water.

There were some severe thunderstorm warnings near Jacksonville last night - as a cell passed near us. But no rain yet (well, except for those 12 drops).

It's overcast this morning and "muggy as hang" (Southern expression). The yellowflies (deer flies) are vicious today - swarming and dive bombing when you walk ouside.

My 10 year old walked outside yesterday - just after I'd driven up to the house. She wanted to know why it was 'all smokey' - it wasn't smokey...it was the dust from my driveway (it's a long gravel/limestone driveway).

C'mon RAIN - a nice steady tropical downpour (sans tornados and straight line winds, please) would be nice today! RAIN RAIN RAIN RAIN!

Ignore the high temp, I need to get a screen built for my hydro sensor to keep it accurate.

Approximate location of weather station:
http://tinyurl.com/qxwhj
31.11N
81.88W

Should be in the path.
