Most of the impact will be rain, but right now it could be the wind that does some problems also.

I just hope they are all watching Alberto and make preparations. I think some since last night are not really taking it seriously.

Although it will hit north of Tampa by at least 75 miles, folkds in the Tampa Bay area need to understand that they will be on the worst side of the storm and it appears as though they could see some strong winds now out of this in the squalls that swing by.

I just heard on the news that people in FL are not taking alot of precautions because Alberto is not a hurricane. That is being ignorant.

yes, most of the worst squall will be down towards that area and people need to remember now, where the center makes landfall, that wont be the worst hit.

They are battening down the hatches here at the jobsite. We're in the middle of building a 214 bed hospital and the building is open. Mostly steel framework and wall rough-ins, but no windows. We have to make sure there is no trash or debris that could fly around, especially in the upper floors of the structure.

If this system were not being sheared it's entire life, it would be a nasty June Hurricane. Not a good sign of this season's future.

Big Bend people are used to this. It should not be too bad. Tampa will get some needed rain.

Shear is increasing aswell, so Alberto has alot of hell to go through.

The above post is just my OPINION. Just because I think this hurricane is not going to hit the Eastern Part of the US, please continue to listen to your local weather person as I am just a tall women, sitting near on the beach, watching the seagulls. Hence my opinion doesn't matter.

Well at my first sight of SAT, and IR this morning I am amazed what he did over night. Not what I planned on seeing this morning. Watching recon closley this a.m.....

I was just on the recon thread they found close to 60 mph winds...

I was blatantly -removed- it for myself. Want the rain, and the day off. A nice tropical storm is good fun for those of us who like such things.

Lordy, lordy! I got up early to see what was going on, ran into my rocking chair and broke the side of my foot and found Alberto was a near hurricane! Going to be a fun couple of days :cry: :roll: :eek:

I'm located just north-west of this location. We got a decent storm goign but havent seen rotaion or any funnels or water spouts on the way to work this morning. I just posted this in the current conditions thread as well.

Alberto is looking better this morning but, still the shear is pushing the convection away from the center. It may seem possible a new llc is under that convection. IMO doesn't it seem like that low level circulation is pretty big?
