I suspect cycloneye easily holds the record for average number of posts over his career.

Estimated 36 posts a day :) But quality matters!! 74 Knt FLT Wind. Hmm Could we see H Alberto by 5pm Advisory if this trend continues? Clearly with 74 knt flght wind there would be hurricane gusts. With gusts would thay place a hurricane watch at all for northern florida?

I'm hoping this stays as a tropical storm. Having to come to work was a bummer and it would be a pain if this thing blew up stronger. I live on the intercoastal and the drive home to secure the house would not be pleasant with our roads.

just spoke to my mother who lives in northern Pinellas county on the coast - told her to batten down the hatches as strengthening TS Alberto is on the way.

Wow

They just broke in on a local Tampa station and said that the TS warning may be upgraded. (Hurricane Watch I'm guessing???)
Can't tell you which station - I don't remember what I left the TV on.

Alberto took itself off the ugly, junky list of tropical systems, plenty of moisture on the way for me. :D

they love to do this kind of stuff. There is always a lot of drama from the local news media in these situations. EXAMPLE: Tom Terry for Hurricane Charley in Orlando. I remember that one well.

A hurricane Watch would scare me. Just a few hours ago we were talking about a moderate to strong TS, now we might have a minimal hurricane on our hands.

Looks as though Alberto may be moving more ne to ene based on radar out of Tampa. Notice that the rain shield is moving more ene to ne than ne to nne, plus it appears that a circulation center(although broad & ill defined) is showing up. Thoughts & comments welcomed.

Tom Terry really is a good meteorologist.

look at the rotation in the last few images of expanded radar of north east gulf it appears that something is rapped up nicely south west of appilachicola on the edge of screen. looks pretty well organized to me

What did Tom Terry do? If it wasn't for good ole' Tom, a lot of people in the Orlando area would not have taken Charley seriously (myself included). I remember what really "woke me up" was Tom at about 1 PM on that day. Until that time, I had not taken the storm seriously. Heck, until that time we thought it was going in near Tampa or north as a minimal storm. He was just really trying to get everyone's attention and for that I will be forever greatful.
