Probably because, like I'm saying, they anticipate an east panhandle hit with most of the convection and stronger winds being carried in on that eastern side into central FL.

fact -- different Allison. Allison of 1995 made landfall, I believe, as a strong tropical storm near St. Marks (south of Tallahassee), doing very little in the way of damage.
Actually, the remnants of Allison of 2001 caused more damage to our area via flooding rains than the Allison of 1995 did!

This thing is almost a hurricane and people were saying that will will be dead by morning and it's nothing
. All I can say is I gave it a 20% chance of becoming a hurricane and now that's bumped up to 65%
. Somehow I knew Alberto had a trick up his selve and fooled everyone. Wow....2006 hurricane season your already surprising people!!

it's also moving out of the loop current into an area with less oceanic heat content....so it will be a close call

There's a few places now calling for a cat1 at landfall...I think it will be borderline if it is a hurricane at landfall.
