Tornado threat about to increase in central/ northern Fla
You can see the "warm front" if ya wanna call it that. about to move northward through Jax at this hour at the link below. There is a dry area south with bands of thunderstorms without the thunder developing within this dry air and there is a heavy band of thunderstorms (probably without the thunder) in the Tampa/st pete area now pivoting around Alberto. I expect a new tornado watch to be issued momentarily.

Boy, I guess the SRH (Southern Region HQ/NWS) server is really overloaded! I can't get Puerto Rico radar - just won't load. The Florida radars don't show the warning overlays, and the regional NWS sites won't finish loading (Tallahassee), Jacksonville). Server/bandwidth load must be beyond what anyone anticipated. Hope they fix that before the next storm!
Thanks spinfan4eva, for posting that, only way I can see it.
Stay safe!!

Good topic...
I can see the dry slot ahead (north) of the warm front (pseudo warm front?) and the helicity values are there... but the convection is limited. The one linear band along the West Central Florida Coast is the only game in town right now, so to say. And, I don't see much in the way of new cell formation as of 11PM.
For those of you who will be light night radar watchers... keep an eye on the Florida West Coast near Sarasota to Fort Myers extending inland towards Polk and Highlands Counties. As cloud bands stream onshore overnight they might just hit enough instability to blossom into scattered cells, if not new bands.

Hi Robert,
Most of the activity will stay across Wrn Hillsborough... Pinelles... and north through Pasco-Hernando-Citrus county through at least 12:30 or so. The bands that have been kicking up the rotating cells haven't been making much eastward progress.
But - there has been a couple of new cells showing up on composite reflectivity near the Manatee-Hardee county line. These little cells are in advance of the band farther west. Of course, any cells that are forming outside of the band will be all the more likely to rotate if they can deepen enough. Also, the main band that's been generating the rotating cells late tonight in vicinity of Tampa Bay will eventually slide east. It's had some new storm cell development down near Bradenton/Sarasota as well... all of this will work your way probably between 12:30 and 1:30 I would say.
