I think the one to focus on right now is the one in the eastern Carrib., the other ones we will have much more time to watch later.

Caribbean Wave

Positives for Development:
The system in the Caribbean seems to be "twisting" at the mid-levels this afternoon...and it's acquiring more of a "comma" or "hook" shape...shear values are basically between 10 and 20 knots...There is some convection in the area (granted, it's probably caused by interaction with baddies in the upper levels)...good upper level divergence..

Negatives for Development:
Hardly any lower level convergence plus weak vorticity in the lower levels...system is moving rather fast...it's in the Eastern Caribbean (bad place in general)...it's in the Eastern Caribbean in June (not climatologically favorable)...

The waves out in the Atlantic will probably fall apart soon and not have a real chance to develop until they reach the Carribean due that area being not climatologically favored at this time of year. The one in the Eastern Carribean by the end of the week and may have chance when it reaches the Western Carribean for more favorable upper-level conditions.

Yea, maybe so, but we all know about climatologically favored areas and how mother nature listens to that in these recent years. I would've thought the convection would've decreased by now on the astern waves, but nope...they just keep on going. Convection or not, they have good structures to them.

lets hope so but it doesn't seem the tropics like following climatology lately....

Just a reminder...it doesn't take a full blown hurricane to do a LOT of damage in the islands...we don't take *big* weather anytime or anywhere lightly because of what month it is or climatological history...

Correct me if I'm wrong here...

The eastern caribbean wave is currently experiencing strong upper level shear which is hampering further development. After looking over radar and satellite images it looks very healthy causing strong winds and torrential downpours across the Lesser Antilles.

As it continues it's treck westward it will move into an area more favorable for development. With the way it is looking now I don't see any reason why this wave will not develop into a fairly solid storm once it enters a more friendly environment. What do y'all think?

Your records are wrong; 1886, 1936, and 1968, all of these years had 3 storms in june!!!

Talking about Dennis I was doing a search to find out what his top wind speeds were and I came across this link.

It is pratically my hometown. Some of these pictures are the LOWES in Foley and the famous Cici Pizzas.

hurricane plan??? RUN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Nope my contractor has not finished the work on my mobile home yet but we did do some landscaping today wnanna make it pretty for the coming storms. My plan is to put everything in rubermaids, kiss the rest goodbye, a 3 or less we go to the same hotel we always do and anything above a 3 we head out.
