Complaints and Grievances

#1 Postby Regit » Wed Jun 14, 2006 1:35 am

For your consideration,

There have been a ton of posts lately in the Talkin' Tropics forum from members complaining about the actions of other members.

Can I suggest a new two part policy:

1) Topics started suggesting that mods make new rules about posts be immediately moved to this forum.

2) Complaints about members (whether a single member or a group of members) be banned, either by deleting them, or locking the thread, and that members be directed to PM a mod directly rather than post publicly.

As Alberto was strengthening there were threads about behavior that kept getting bumped to the top, and distracting members from threads about the storm.

Just a suggestion. Comments welcome.

Your 1. Can be taken under consideration.

Your 2. We have asked members to do this over and over.

Ohhh I agree with u on both points..ESPECIALLY the second one!

Everyone listen: As a poster on this board, I do NOT want to be reading the tropical forum and see it cluttered up with drivel and and "dont feed the troll" remarks. This isnt grade school. Many times its best to just IGNORE whoever it it that is irritating you. I know its hard sometimes trust me! If you feel the need to complain simply PM a mod and they will handle it.

Rant over

Can I suggest that you take this up in a pm to one of the moderating staff or admins in the future please?

Posters must have the right to remove their posts, moderators should respect
requests to remove posts! This would be a very fare solution, rather than chastising
the poster and creating conflicts!

Moderators are VERY busy and they have lives outside of storm2k. May I suggest that in the future you preview your posts carefully before you hit the "submit" button?

If you follow the rules in the above link you will not find yourself being chastised. :)

Storm 2k is extremely important when a hurricane occurs. I saw this during Rita and Katrina. I hope that those who are in control of the posts can keep some control over those who want to "pump" up the hype of a hurricane. Living on the Gulf Coast, we have experienced the fear, etc. the last year, I hope you will responsibly handle this so that we can use this board as it was intended. At times we need information and Storm 2k has been this in the past. Please continue your controls and keep it providing the service it has provided in the past.
