Sneak attack.

#1 Postby OuterBanker » Wed Jun 14, 2006 9:21 am

It's 10 am and all's well. Only had light rain, no real wind and most are thinking we escaped Alberto. Well I think that this p.m. will be another story. I have heard numerous comments that the remnants are well west of us with all the rain and heading northeast. Most here will know that the center is actually near the NC/SC border not where the "blob" is. I still think that this could be a hybrid howler and surprise a lot of people here this afternoon and evening. Could be worse here than in Fla., but at least it is a speed demon. First post ever on predictions. May have to eat a little crow, but it feels good to go out on a limb for a change

It's pouring rain in the Triangle area. A local mall had to close in Raleigh because of flooding due drainage problems in lower level parking areas. Driving home from work will not be fun this afternoon. :(

Slideshow of photos of the flooding (includes pictures of the mall) .. .

and video too.

Well, the rain has taperd off, but the wind is still blowing. Fortunately, I will avoid all the flooded areas on the way the home, but the traffic will be bad with parts of US70 (Glenwood Ave) closed.
