Here's a decent pair of maps that have everything clearly labeled:

Ok - I must be blind or not looking in the right place, because all I see in the entire GOM is a disappating blob escaping into Texas and Louisiana - and nothing at all in the way of thunderstorm activity in the BOC. What am I missing???

Thanks - I didn't think so.

However - I am wondering where the 100% chance of rain for Houston is coming from tomorrow.

Whats left of the wave appears to be moving into the BOC. There is also a Low onshore on the Eastern Mexican coast. Does anyone know if the seering currents will push that low into the BOC?

I don't know what it looked like then, but this thread was started 2 1/2 days ago.

Anyway, we got some steady rain this morning, but I don't think it was even an inch. It was definitely less than what was predicted. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings since the chances are pretty high again.

humph! 2 inches more than we've received... all those nice clouds and nothing to share with us. Typical summer tale around here, all those nice cloud systems to our west, just seem to loop up and over our area while we stay bone dry. I agree with Rainband-- rain yes.... development no!
