Need some ideas-PA, NJ, DE, MD

#1 Postby angelwing » Thu Jun 15, 2006 8:57 am

Ok, the apt complex where I live will be installing new windows in our apt tomorrow from 8AM-6PM so the hubby and I would like to stay somewhere overnight, we live in Philly and would like to stay outside of Philly tonight then go somewhere tomorrow for the day, then we are going to come home then go away again till Sunday. 2 problems, where we would love to go we can't (the shore)as we have Digger, our beardie, and we need to find a pet friendly hotel for tonight. Tomorrow I'm thinking a state park as I don't think we can really take him inside anywhere (I refuse to leave him in the car by himself)then we need to get away for at least till Sunday (we haven't been anywhere in over 8 years)

Anybody got any ideas for PA, NJ, DE or even MD?

Would appreciate any info, i've been googling since last weekend when I have time but figured I would ask.

Thanks!

When you're looking at hotels, be sure to check tripadvisor.com because they have travelers' reviews on many different hotels. Ths may help you find the best hotel. I hope this helps! :)

Theres always Atlantic City. May be a bit expensive but there might be some cheaper places outside the city. You could just drive in during the day, visit the boardwalk and the beaches, gamble if your into that. Then theres also Ocean City, MD. I'm not very fimiliar with that area though.

Bass Pro Shop is a vacation in itself.

Why not go to the Delaware Water Gap? It's beautiful up there and the weather is great this time of year...and no shore traffic!!! :D

The hotels in the Extended Stay Hotels/Homewood Suites, etc. chain allow dogs and cats.

http://www.extendedstayhotels.com

Book on line and there is a $50 off coupon for "extended" stay (more than 3-5 nights, I think).

I wanted to thank everyone:) We ended up staying the day in Neshaminy State Park on Friday, Digger didn't like the grass, but he sure liked walking on the asphalt and on my dashboard, he ended up laying down on the dash enjoying the sun (but he hated the ride, he kept running all over my hubby)

Thanks again and will keep the URL's for future!
