Weekends

#1 Postby Janice » Sat Jun 17, 2006 11:47 am

As a norm, what do you usually do on weekends?

Go somewhere, sleep in and rest, work in the yard, work around the house or have company come over?

Or, perhaps you work on your job on weekends.

It all depends, it varies so much weekend to weekend. Yard work at some point or the grass will grow to the roof if we skip a weekend. Usually like to do something with the kids as well. 8-)

Try to catch up on my cleaning; in the summer I spend time outside with the kids & go to the lake.

I work every other weekend. It could be worse..it could be every weekend! So I've got a positive attitude at least.

We race every other weekend (Saturday night). Between my trips to New Orleans though, I have been resting.

What is a weekend? I always have to work. At least, I do every single Saturday. The only way I get a Saturday off is I have to request it at least 3 weeks in advance. And we are only allowed 1 Saturday off a month. I do get every other Sunday off though. But, hey, that is retail. I leave for Tennessee on July 24th and come back on the 31st. After that, I am going major job hunting and trying everything I can to get a job out of retail. I want to find a job Monday-Friday 8-5 with my weekends off.

Got up at four and worked on my genealogy and checked the posts here. At six I started planting some ixora, raked the yard, swept the driveway, worked on the tarp that covers the car and replaced the bungee cords. Raked the back yard, sprayed and fertilized the roses. Went around the house checking for wasps nest. Regrouted the kitchen sink. Did some paper work for a couple of hours. Did some errands. Came home about six and tried to use my electric weed whacker but the line went poof and I didn't have a replacement cartridge so I had to rewind a hundred feet of cord grumbling all the while. Got the mower out and finished. Had something to eat and made cuban coffee for in the morning. At eight I watched a movie "Firewall" and now I'm on the computer. That was my day today.

During the Spring and Summer months I clean two condos on Saturday which pretty much takes up most of my day. Extra money though. On Sundays it just depends. It is usually a family day. Sometimes we go to church and then head out on the boat for the afternoon. Just depends on the weather.

I haven't had a weekend in over 9 years, half the time I don't even know what day of the week it is, lol.
