Attitude

#1 Postby Janice » Sat Jun 17, 2006 6:28 pm

What is your general attitude these days at home or at work. People are suppose to mellow as they get older...

Which one of these is you?

1. Mellow, easy to live and work with
2. Demanding and want my way
3. Able to sit down and discuss all issues rationally
4. Play the silent treatment

I am closest to #3, I hate arguing with anyone. I generally won't do it, a waste of time. And, I hate playing games with people.

5. Just plain crummy.

I feel like everyone wants something from me all the time and all I ask for is to be left alone once in a while. You think I get that? No way. I'm starting to get the attitude at work that if I do everything quickly and efficiently, my only reward will be new demands. Everyone at home is starting to think that I hate them. All I want is a little space to relax and recharge. I withdraw and they push harder to try to connect. Try to talk rationally? We are talking about some very emotioal Italians, where every word, every action, is full of meaning - usually over estimated.

Ya, Ya, Ya. Maybe I'll start drinking.........

Coriolis, I think people need to set goals right from the start... Let people know this is the way you are. Too many people try to change other people. Let them be.
I always tell John that I had parents and I don't need him to be my father..... He is pretty good. I set him straight from the beginning. I hate fighting and refuse to do it. It is a big waste of time. One thing that helps is that we each have things we love to do alone. He loves to write on his computer and I spend time here. We respect each other for their time alone. Life is too short. Yes, we are definately mellowing as we get older.

I would say now in close to #1 but it took me a long time to get there and I still have my moments. I do not want to make my co workers miserable just because im not able to do things my way. As far as sitting down and talking with my boss, its easier to just go with the program(hes very fair though). I do not have much of a life outside of work besides trolling..err...i mean posting here and helping out in the chat room so its difficult to apply this to my personal life.

I'm number 1 on the list. Most people say I project peace and it comes across and makes them feel good to be around me. Sort of like a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold day. It takes a whole lot to stir my anger. Usually if someone is being mistreated I am like a mother bear with a cub. Vicious. Frankly, it takes too much energy to get worked up about things that most of the time I can smooth over. If I do get angry normally within five minutes its gone. I definitely don't sweat the small stuff.
