Something Dear To You

#1 Postby Janice » Fri Jun 16, 2006 9:30 pm

Do you have something that you saved from your childhood, like a toy or something?

Something that meant a lot to you and you will pass down to someone someday.

I have this... Well, it's a stuffed animal that my parents gave me before I could crawl. I named him/it Puff. It's sort of a cross between a rabbit and a mouse... I know that sounds atrocious, but it's so cute. :)

At my age I have alot of things that are dear to me. The oldest is a "wooden" doll I got for my 8th Christmas. She is almost 57 years old now.

Great thread, Janice.. AA.

I have a somewhat antique looking pair of binoculars. I have a photograph taken of me the day I was adopted out of an orphanage, and around my neck are those binoculars. They were given to me by my adoptive parents on that very day. I will always treasure them.

I forgot. I have a framed picture and autograph of the Pope. When Sean graduated from Catholic high school, his mentor was Father Orr. Father Orr left that summer for the Vatican. When Sean passed, Father Orr had a service at the Vatican for Sean and sent me this nice framed piece.

Ohhh... and while I was still in the orphanage... this guy used to visit me and each time he'd have a silver dollar that he'd give me. I happen to know some of these are quite valuable now, but that's moot. I discovered later upon investigation, that the man was my biological father who kept in touch with me until the time of my adoption... those silver dollars are right next to the binoculars.
