PS you can make it low cal by using fat free/sugar free ice cream sandwiches and light cool whip and sugar free hot fudge...the only thing you can't get is the walnuts and the Magic Shell that's on top thats sugar free.

I couldn't have planned this day worse if I had tried. Here it is...Fathers day. Normally I would play in our gardens.....BBQ ribs and drink cold beer. But not today. For myself it will be a clear liquids diet. While I prep for an early morning out-patient procedure tomorrow. Growing old isn't much fun. But.....maybe....possibly... I will get good news tomorrow.
If not, I have every intention of retiring early.

Yes indeed...Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.
I am fortunate to still have mine around. He is 91 and counting!
...and my own sons took me to Colorado for my birthday and Father's Day a couple of weeks ago. Fishing, rafting, and laughing a whole lot!
It is bittersweet in our neighborhood, however, as a family of four (mom, dad, and two young children) was killed on Friday afternoon just two blocks from our home in a fiery car accident. Can't help but think of all the pain in the relatives of that family today.

I'd like to say HFD to my uncle, who just married off his youngest daughter and was reunited with another who he had not seen in 30 years. my own dad is still alive but has "moved on" with his life after my mother's death. says he doesnt want the past to be a part of his new life with his companion....the new life doesnt include his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Sigh.

Happy Father's Day to all of you great men on Storm2K. Hope you have a wonderful day today.
Went to the cemetery this morning to visit my father and two grandfathers. While I was there I thought of a happy memory of my father. Its strange how the little things stay in your mind. Saturdays we would wake up early and have breakfast and then my papa would mow and like a general he would assign different chores like raking and weeding or trimming to each of us kids. After we finished we would go with him to the barbershop (he worked such long hours during the week we rarely saw him) and after go to pick up spiced ham while mama made egg salad at home to go with the sandwiches. After lunch we would all gather around and watch TV, and I would massage his feet, my sister his hands until he fell asleep. In the evenings we would pack up sandwiches and fill the ice chest with drinks and go to the drive in movies. My papa was such a good man, husband and father and I dearly miss him.
