On the bright side the storms don't appear to be filling south towards the gulf. Area's hit hardest earlier may be spared.

Yep EWG, afraid so. And each time I've stepped outside this evening it's raining a bit harder. Gotta call it a night - hopefully I won't need an Ark in the morning.

not really

Areas north and west of Houston should receive the brunt of tonight's event.

Actually, area getting hammered right now is the same area that got some of the worst of Allison. Kingwood area spotter reported close to 11" this morning and they are getting at least 2+ inches per hour in that area now with training. West may get hammered later, but right now it's Northeast Houston.

It is starting to look like it may try to back-build southward over the next hour or two!

Thought the Brazoria line may try to link up with the one down by Matagorda, now becoming a bit concerned that it may instead try and consolidate with the one in Northern Harris county.

I am getting concerned for the east side of the metro houston area... Major concerns IMO, the area could get up to 10 inches of rain tonight, and expect tomorrow's moring rush to be a disaster!!!

Though I do believe rainfall coverage will be more substantial than yesterday night, rainfall rates should overall be lower. Clean inflow from the GOM has not begun yet, and destablization across the area has been minimal. Corpus-Matagorda may need to watch out for those storms, IMO those will be where the heaviest rates may be. The dynamics will be important and we'll see how that compensates for the marginal instability.

Perhaps I will be proven wrong. Let's hope not.

Yep, the latest frame of the radar loop (11:19) shows some rapid development just north or beltway 8 to the south and southwest of Spring and the Hooks airport area. I live just east of Hooks and its not raining yet but shouldn't be long as this new development moves north.

It's calm around BW8 and I-45N. I need to get up early tomorrow...wonder if it's worth staying up to keep an eye out.

Should have stuck with the feeling of the Brazoria and Matagorda line coming together. And how on earth is there not a FF warning for either area??
