Stupid Cities and Towns

#1 Postby Janice » Thu Jun 22, 2006 10:39 am

Does your town or city have a stupid ordinance or problem they have not solved yet?

Here is Dorado, we live by the beach. A lot houses are just used in the winter. The city has electric poles inside of some of these lots, who knows why and all houses are fenced in. So, if the power goes out and they need to get to one of these poles and no one is there; they have to get an order to go in or climb the fence to fix the pole, etc.

Talk about having the whole neighborhood wait to get the electricity turned back on.

Also, here in PR where we are high risk for hurricanes, etc., all our phone and electric lines are still on poles above ground.

Well I know with the electric company here, they have nooooo problem coming and disconnecting your electricity, but when you call to have it turned on, after you pay the bill, someone has to be home to get it turned back on, and they will only turn it on between the hours of 8-5....go figure, one time it took 2 days to get my power back on.. I had to take the day outta work...

That is because they know they have total control of the situation and you cannot do anything but wait....
