Very, Very dangerous in Nebraska right now

#1 Postby nystate » Mon Jun 09, 2003 8:34 pm

UNTIL 900 PM CDT

* AT 812 PM CDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15
MPH ACROSS EASTERN BOYD COUNTY. TRAINED SPOTTERS HAVE REPORTED
NUMEROUS LARGE TORNADOES WITH THIS STORM. THE CITY OF PAGE IS IN THE
PATH OF THIS STORM AND MAY SEE EFFECTS OF THIS STORM BY 830 PM CDT.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING
SITUATION. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS DESTRUCTIVE TORNADO...TAKE
COVER IMMEDIATELY.

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A
WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS
AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN
INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO
COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 900 PM CDT MONDAY EVENING FOR
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. A TORNADO WATCH ALSO REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
1000 PM CDT MONDAY EVENING FOR WESTERN NEBRASKA.

I dont think it will be as bad as opposed to areas farther south..................I have still yet to see a severe storm yet amazingly so far this year...............Probably get some more decent rain out of it for sure..........That hasnt missed my area......

It got pretty ugly in Central Nebraska tonight. The news here just reported several Massive tornadoes. Now I am not sure what they classify as massive, they do not have any further information right now. I will keep you updated. The storms should be in my area in an hour or so.
