Hey, that's great news Breeze! Sounds like the office may have rounded the corner.
Still more drama going on with the Mrs. and her office, and I'll share that with you one of these days. She'll be moving to the fifth office in 8 years following these doctors around sometime in early 2006.
More to come.
Glad things are looking better for you and your crew!

UPDATE, Poppysky...
I now have all of my decorations except the "fried egg", KRIM shield and both cufftitles; seems that my stepsons KEPT some of the collection themselves (before it went out the door), and presented these four "lost" items in the box they kept them in all these years.
The clothing and leather goods have to wait a little while longer...our PC, Debi's car, Coppertop's TKD membership, etc. have to be paid off first. Besides, the ONLY tailor that will make one to my specs is in India...but I'm still trying to get an American seamster/seamstress to make me an offer.

Hey there Bill. That is GREAT news too! If ever there was a person who truly TRULY appreciated what you have in your possession, it is YOU!
We have a few things to pay off before I can start flight lessons, too.
Let's see, that's the exact same thing I said in 1972 when I first had that on my priority list!!!
Can't wait to see photos, of course.
Any more Poppysky challenges?

Update: my "walking out" trousers have been received (dark stone grey, with 2 mm white piping down the outer seams); the tunic and breeches are under construction as I write.
I found the "one and only"(!) WW II German custom tailor/seamstress in the U.S. to do the honors...her work is amazing, and reasonable, considering the extra work involved in fitting, matching wools, style preferences, etc.
If you'd like, I can give you her E-address (with samples displayed) by sending me a PM.

Let me offer a sample of her work; this is a standard officer's "dress" M36 feldbluse for a military police Captain (Feldgendarmerie).
The piping is red/orange, and the buttons are bright aluminum. My tunic will have white backed shoulderboards and collar tabs (Infanterie) w/o piping, a longer "skirt", six-button front w/painted feldgrau buttons (to match the wool color), and slanted pocket flaps with interior-set pockets on the skirt.
It will also retain the older "choker" high collar and two-button flapped vent of the pre-1933 Reichsheer tunic. Virginia is the only tailor who will go out of her way to satisfy each client's actual size/needs (most others offer only stock sizes, and you're stuck with making limited choices).

Most recent update: I now have everything I need (medals/orders/ribbon bar) to finish up my impression except the uniform itself and the leather goods (belt, holster, mapcase, boots and shoes).
The cap Schirmmutze is coming from Germany, and was made with the same material as the Feldbluse...matching caps/tunics were the province of (a) wealthy or (b) career officers.
It's been LONG in realizing, but I'm close now.
Cap is HERE...high shoes coming for Christmas. Now, I have to put the insignia on, remove the spring from the crown, and reblock it for that stylish "50-mission-crunch" so often done with those caps on both sides.
"It's a man's job, but someone has to do it."

Bill! You're moving? Me, too! Just about 500 yards away, but, I'll still be boxing up and hauling and
etc., etc., etc.....
Where are you moving to?
Your uniform is finally coming together!
Poppysky, tell the Mrs. that change is about to blow, again - Heather (the former secretary) left in
October of last year - we have had three secretaries since - and the good doc is about to replace
the Office Manager.... it just gets more interesting, as time goes by.....

Bill and Breeze! Not many look-see's on the post lately, but thanks for the continued updates. I'll drop each of you a PM this weekend! And sounds like you are BOTH moving, and I didn't even know.
My best to both of you, always. Where my head is in relationship to my anatomy is no excuse for wandering too many blocks away from the front porch.

Literally and figuratively Bill, when one door closes another opens. Let's hope that having a living quarters all on one floor will be a benefit that eases the pain. Let's hope that in spite of its distance from the amenities that somehow a new "closeness" to someone will evolve.
That Kevin is finding a path he can believe in and be passionate about is something many people never do. He'll carry a piece of you, a proud piece of you, wherever he goes, and in small ways, but significant ones, that part of him will be an extension of who you are that travels well beyond your new home.
May you find peace in the new place, and more than ever, Annabelle will be counting on you to give her comfort and security as well.
I have a new sense of hope about this move for all of you.

Yes, and I even found a place to buy the riding boots. The leather goods (boots, belt-holster-mapcase-paybook wallet) are the last items I need to buy. The belt will be first of these; I found a wide 70mm Reichswehr open-face pebbled aluminum "twin-claw" buckle (pre-1933), and I'll need to have a 55mm (2 1/4") tan-brown belt made. The opther items are "stock", and can be obtained at any time.
Rest assured that when it's all together, you WILL receive a picture of this 'crusty old Prussian" wearing it.

Oh, yes...Annabelle (she be a ho') will miss her staircase terribly; when she awakens to come down, she peeks her little head through the uprights until someone points and says "Peek-a-poo...I SEE you!" Then she runs down as fast as she can to shower the "identifier" with puppy kisses.
As for Kevin...I can't say I am happy about his choices.
