Do you know anyone personally who met someone on the internet and it turned out to be a nightmare? Did things finally turn out ok for your friend?

Ohhh yes. A friend of mine met a lady online and for the first few months all was fine. Then it went downhill fast. I just know what my friend told me and there are two sides to every story.

I know a woman who met a guy, who has 3 kids, on the internet. They got married, he moved here. Alittle over a year later they got divorced because he refused to punish the kids and would not allow her too plus he would talk to other women on the internet when she was not home.

I also know of several marriages that have ended because of internet cheats.

Not exactly a nightmare but I trusted a lady, a so called friend, I met on a medical message board. Her husband had just had emergency colon surgery and she was so upset. I reached out to her but her tone in that post/questions was very argumentative. Almost combative - as if to say how dare he have surgery on me. She lives in Massachusettes and is in her late 50s. Other message board members blasted her for her negative attitude but I being rather naive at times, thought she was just as shell shocked as her husband. She thanked me for my help. We exchanged email addresses, writing weekly for over 4 years. We exchanged birthday and xmas presents also and spoke on the phone once. Then out of the blue she turned on me, in the blink of an eye she just dropped me as a friend. I still have absoulutely no idea why either. I gave her the chance to come clean but she didn't. My niece is getting married one hour away from her in Sept. As of right now we cannot attend the wedding but I might be able to. I'd love to just drive up to her house and just ask why. Then again, maybe it's a good thing she showed her true colors. She is only the second person to ever drop me like this. My ex was the first. I just could never cut someone out of my life without telling them why.

Not a horror story by any stretch of the means but still unresolved. My husband wishes I hadn't even trusted her in the first place. He thinks she's always been an unkind person, citing the way she posted on that long ago med. message board. I have to agree with him.

Mary many time people with negative attitudes do this. They act like they are your friend for years, until they find a pair of fresh ears to talk to. I agree with your husband; shes probably never has been a nice person in her life. Sorry you went thru this.
